South Tyrolean Speck cured ham, Schüttelbrot flat-bread and a glass of wine, preferably Vernatsch, are the mainstays of a South Tyrolean Marende. A proper Marende also includes Kaminwurz sausage, South Tyrolean cheese and boiled potatoes in their skins.
